New Location Marks Los Angeles-based Franchisor’s 53rd in Canada
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
FAT (Fresh. Authentic. Tasty.) Brands Inc. (NASDAQ: FAT)
(“FAT Brands” or the “Company”), parent company of Fatburger,
The Last Great Hamburger Stand™, and Buffalo’s
Express, is pleased to announce the opening of the Company's
53rd Canadian location in South Surrey’s Grandview Central Shopping
Centre. The 2,000-square foot co-branded restaurant is conveniently
located in the centre anchored by Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers
Drug Mart. Grandview Central is positioned within South Surrey’s main
retail arterial along Highway 99 and 24th Avenue, and services one of
the province’s most affluent markets.
For more than a decade, Fatburger has been one of Canada’s
fast-growing burger chains known for serving up mouthwatering, juicy
burgers made famous by founder Lovie Yancey more than 70 years ago.
Prepared with fresh, never frozen, hand-pressed Alberta Angus beef, the
Hollywood famous burgers can be enjoyed with traditional fixings along
with delicious add-ons including chili, maple bacon, guacamole,
pineapple and fried egg. To complement Fatburger’s menu, Buffalo’s
Express offers juicy, made-to-order, boneless and bone-in chicken
wings and salads. Throughout the day, guests will also be able to enjoy
a hearty breakfast, with combinations of eggs, home-style hash browns,
maple bacon, breakfast sausage, brioche breakfast sandwiches and fluffy
buttermilk pancakes sized to suit every appetite.
“Surpassing 50 restaurants in the Canadian market is a major feat for
our Company” said FAT Brands CEO Andy Wiederhorn. “We are
grateful to have partnered with FDF Restaurant Brandz twelve years ago
to strategically develop the Fatburger and Buffalo's
Express brands across Canada, and are confident our latest location
will be well received by locals in the bustling Grandview Central
Shopping Centre.”
The Grandview Central restaurant will be owned by existing franchisee
Ravi Sidhu, who opened her first Fatburger location in Ladner in
January of 2016. Her experience with the iconic burger chain began in
2008 when she was the manager of a location in White Rock, and was
eventually recruited into the corporate support centre as a franchise
district manager. Ravi's self-confidence and strong track record
eventually led to the opportunity to take the helm of a Fatburger and
Buffalo's Express franchise, herself.
“The opening of our 53rd restaurant comes at a busy and
exciting time for our company as we plan to develop five to 10 more
locations in 2018,” said Frank Di Benedetto, CEO, president and owner of
the FDF Restaurant Brandz franchise system that includes the Fatburger
Canada chain. “We are delighted to have Ravi as our newest franchisee
with her customer service-oriented approach to management, and are
confident her unbridled enthusiasm and passion for Fatburger and
Buffalo’s Express will translate into success.”
In addition to the new Grandview Central location, FAT Brands’
Canadian reach includes restaurants in British Columbia, Alberta,
Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. For more
